Our Philosophy
Exemplar means, “one that serves as an ideal model or example”. We believe that we have the ideal model of teaching students in any subject matter and ensuring their success. Our founder is not just a business owner, but an educator with thirty years of teaching experiencing. She mentors all our tutors in teaching techniques and is available to meet with parents and tutors at any time
We believe confidence and high self-esteem are essential to successful students. We promote these positive qualities in our students during their tutoring sessions. Our knowledgeable tutors provide individualized instruction based on how your child learns best. Our success rate speaks for itself. We are proud to boast that ALL of our students reach their academic goals.
Our Services
Exemplar Learning Center provides affordable one-on-one tutoring in the comfort of your own home. In the case where both parents work, tutoring sessions may alternatively be held in your place of business or at another agreed upon location.
Before your first tutoring session, an in-home consultation will be conducted with you and your child to assess your child’s needs. This informal meeting will allow us to review your child’s needs, goals and past school work. We will then be able to assign the ideal tutor to you.
We provide tutoring for all core subjects K-12, Study Skills, ESL (English as a Second Language) and Computer Skills including Internet, email, Microsoft Office Suite and Photoshop. We also specialize in teaching children with dyslexia. Please see our Subjects page for greater detail.
Tutors and Teaching Material
All of our professional tutors are either teachers and/or college graduates. Our tutors are experienced, compassionate and patient. We run a background check on all our tutors. Our tutors are our employees, not independent contractors, as this allows us to stay involved in each and every student's progress. The tutor selected for you will based on your child’s specific needs.
All children learn in different ways. If your child needs help in homework in a particular subject, then your child’s schoolbooks may be used during the tutoring sessions. However, if your child is behind in a subject such as reading or writing, tailored material for your child may be used that will address your child’s individual needs.
